Tunga - Dessins érotiques

Born in 1952 in Palmarès, Brazil, Tunga died in June 2016 in Rio. Trained as an architect, he has created a body of work that is both conceptual and baroque, incorporating literary references, videos and performances into his complex sculptural pieces. He was highly learned and passionate about alchemy, a process that forms one of the pillars of his artistic practices. His works are poetical manifestations of "the duel between cerebral process and biological impulse." He passed away in 2016.
